Disney question is Teppan Edo in Epcot any good One of my families favorite places to eat is Makata or Shoguns?
We are pretty simple and don't care for anything to fancy we all ready have reservations at Chef Mickey's, Crystal palace and Princess storybook dining at Akershus royal Banquet hall. Does any one have a good suggestion along those lines Here's a website with over 200 reviews from visitors of this restaurant. Check it out, and you can see reviews of every other restaurant also. http://land.allears.net/reviewpost/showproduct.php?product=393&cat=34 Lilli | Read more Our First Time at Disney (celebration), will they be doing anything special for us? Every time I call they ask me what we are celebrating and I tell them it's our first time there.. Do you think they will do anything special for us? we're eating at Cinderella's royal table, crystal palace, sci-fi dine in, 50's prime time, coral reef, le cellier, tusker house for donald's breakfast safari... are there any I should not do and replace with a better one? we'll have one child and one pre-teenager with us. thanks!! This will soley depend on your server as well as the restaurant itself I was told. However, if you're celebrating your first time there I don't think they will do anything special. I've never heard of them celebrating someone's first time at Disney. I could be wrong. My parents celebrated their anniversary while we were there a few months ago during our seven night stay. We also let the agent know of their anniversary when we made all of our reservations. We ate at some of the same restaurants you did plus others and yet only Crystal Palace and Tusker House acknowledged their anniversary. They were served a beautifully decorated cupcake. What we were told by the server at Tusker House was that the Disney restaurants will most certainly acknowledge a celebration while the non Disney restaurants customarily will not. From your list this would include Le Cellier (they didn't do anything for my parents). If you have reservations there I wouldn't give them up because of this, though, as this is a hard enough restaurant to get into. You're really fortunate to have a reservation. You'll definitely not want to give up Cinderella's Royal Table. This is hard to get into as well for breakfast. I'm not sure if Sci-fi and 50's Prime Time Cafe are run by Disney or not. We don't care much for these two restaurants; especially Sci-fi. We've never been happy with the food. The ambiance and experience is fun, though. Maybe you should call up Disney dining and ask about all the restaurants on your list, ask if they are run by Disney, and then decide what to do. Again, though it was just a cupcake. I'm not sure if giving up a preferred restaurant would be worth a cupcake. Make sure to go to Guest Services when you arrive at any of the parks on your first day and ask for a 1st Time Button. Have a great time! g | Read more How much would dining at all these sit down restaurants at Walt Disney World cost? I just wanted to know, it'd be for about 5-6 people: Cinderella's Royal Table (Dinner) 50's Prime Time Cafe (Dinner) Sci-Fi Dine In (Dinner or Lunch) Akershus (Dinner) The Crystal Palace (Breakfast or Lunch) Tony's Town Square (Dinner) Chef Mickey's (Breakfast or Dinner) So, how much would it cost? Btw, we can't get a dining plan because we already have Disney passes to the parks and aren't planning on getting a vacation package. I also know about all the reservation stuff. I'm just looking for a price, and an idea of what would be good to bring. Any experiences are nice as well. At which meal do you think is best for each of the restaurants. Thanks! I'd also like to know if you can eat at Chef Mickey's without staying at the contemporary. Well, for sit-downs like CInderella's Royal Table and Akershus, you pay one fixed price and choose what off the menu you'd like to have. CRT is about $330. But I hear the experience is worth it. Akershus would be about $280. For buffet restaurants like Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's, you pay the fixed price for the buffet and get what you'd like off of it. Dinner at Crystal Palace is about $175 for the whole group(according to your numbers and the prices I found). Breakfast at Crystal Palace is about $172 for your group. It's gotten good reviews and is definitely the right place to make a reservation if you can't get into CRT. As for Chef Mickey's, that'll cost you around $210 for Breakfast and around $245 for dinner. Because it's the fab five, the price will be high. You don't have to stay at the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's. For Tony's, Prime Time, Sci-Fi,, it all depends on what you order. For Sci-Fi, bring about $20 - $30 per person. For the others, just look at their menus at the Disney website. You can save them and print them, so that you can show them to your whole group and they can decide what they want to get. That way you can add up the total amount yourself. Good luck! | Read more What was it like for the nobles and everyone else at Versailles? Over 500 people lived at Château de Versailles at its height, nobles of varying ranks from across the Kingdom of France. I have studied extensively the positions of the Royal Household at the time of Louis XV, and read about the Royal Apartments, salons, etc. I am wondering what about the REST of Versailles? The hundreds of bedrooms and chambers and lifestyles of the nobles? Questions on Versailles Were bedrooms handed out by status once you got past the princes and princesses rank? For instance were all bedrooms of the standard two room seating room, and bedroom arrangement or were there a lot more rooms for certain people? Where did everyone eat? Were the numerous private dining rooms throughout the palace, or was there a large Grand Hall where many ate? Where did all the servants of the nobles stay, were there many rooms for them to sleep in or was there a quota on the number of servants a noble could bring with them? How many people actually lived year around? Life for those other than the very highest nobility was utterly miserable. It was built as a show place only, and no consideration was given for the comfort of people. There were no toilets in the entire palace. Visitors recorded that the grand staircase reeked of urine. Only the most exalted had a "close stool" in their room, which would have to be emptied daily. There was no such thing as a bathroom. Rooms used by the nobility were tiny, some not much bigger than closets. People were estatic to get the tiniest corner, since they could then claim the privilege of living at the palace. The King and royal family dined in public, while the nobles stood and watched. However, the kitchens were so far away that the food was always cold. Nobles ate in their rooms, since no one was invited to sit with the royals. Servants and lower classes slept under the roof in attics, where they either roasted in the summer or froze in the winter. Outdoor servants slept in the stables. There was a lot of problems with the water, since it had to be piped a long distance across country. It turned green from sitting in the pipes. The low lying ground was either bone dry or swampy in the rain. Water was so scarce that the fountains were only turned on for parties. Danelady | Read more |
